mp4 formats don’t appear to run beyond 14 to 15 minutes even if the movie is two hours long while the same file plays in its entirety using Dropbox’s mobile app or on the web. There does appear to be a limit on what you can view using Dropbox on Roku.

Dropbox has arrived on Roku and it lets you view photos and movies stored in your cloud storage directly on the TV by using Roku’s streaming media player. It’s quite capable as it lets you search for items by name, view thumbnails and slideshows and browse through folders. I get that you can pay $2 to get rid of the ads, but this shouldn’t be a problem in the first place.If Dropbox is your cloud storage service of choice and you happen to have a Roku hooked up to your TV then you’re going to like what the two have to offer. And honestly, if you lost your remote, just buy a new one. If you want to use your phone as a remote because you think it’ll be faster, it won’t be. I can barely do anything before one pops up, lasting 30 seconds to a a minute. I use my apple remote app all the time, despite still having my remote handy. This app works fine enough if you lose your remote, but there is NO reason to use it otherwise. I wish the search function was as efficient as the Apple TV remote app, but I imagine it’s easier for apple since everybody with that app has an iPhone (I think). Both apps are visually pleasing, and despite not liking this app, I do appreciate the channel screen and being able to go straight to another channel while being in another app. No ads, unlike this, and a message pops up on my phone when I need to type for search. I have an Apple TV as well, and the app for that is way better, despite being one screen.
